Rest or Restless

I want to tell you something that’s critical to understanding about how to be victorious

When angels fight, since they can’t kill each other, how is the winner determined?

Rev 12:7-8

Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, 8 but he was defeated and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.

They lose their place

Eph 4:27 – Do not give place to the devil.

"When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.  44 Then he says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.'

And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order

45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself,

and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. – Matt 12:43-45

How does this scripture advise us behind such a powerful women’s conference?

Unclean spirits are looking for a place

How do you keep spirits from coming back to your place?

What did you do differently this week, after your deliverance

from what you did the week before your deliverance?

If you haven’t changed anything, then you are giving those spirits a “place” to return

They are looking for a place to rest

Rest for an unclean spirit is different than rest for us – it is not the absence of activity

Unclean spirits can only rest in places where they can exercise influence

What makes unclean spirits restless?

For the kingdom of God is…

righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

– Rom 14:17

They are at rest when they are making us restless

Our peace is what makes them restlessness

Where are the seats of righteousness and peace and joy inside of you?

In your heart, your mind & your emotions

Col 3:15.  Let the peace of God rule in our hearts

Stress, anxiety, worry, doubt, fear, anger, sadness, shame, rejection

          Who’s ruling in your heart?

We focus on external sin

We miss that the internal pain is giving the enemy a place of rest

Our main battlefield is our hearts, our minds & our emotions

Phil 4:7

The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,

will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

We can’t let these negative thoughts dominate

         ex. person calling best friend

That’s why… 2 Cor 10:5

Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

How do we fight to bring our thoughts into captivity?

1.    Being renewed in our minds – putting in new information

2.    Being renewed in our activity – creating new habits

3.    Increasing our faith – faith comes by hearing

What are you saying to yourself?

Prov 23:7.  For as he thinks within himself, so he is.

Matt 12:34.  For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

It starts with what you put in and allow to rule in your heart

When we learn to walk in peace in our mind & emotions

We not only make the enemy restless, we hit the enemy hard

·       The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. – Rom 16:20

Your peace is proof of the rule of Jesus

Is 9:7. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end

The more you let Jesus rule, the more peace you will have

Peace, be still

Isa 26:3

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you,

because he trusts in you.
