A Secure Confident Heart

The headlines can begin to overwhelm us

There is a difference between being informed and feeding fear

Your Body Believes & Responds to What Your Mind Tells It

Your brain can hardly tell the difference between real & imaginary experiences

Your nervous system will respond to an imaginary image like it’s real:

Movies, Commercials, Dreams, Fantasies - evoke emotions, terror, etc.

Imagine biting into a Lemon

Your imagination caused your body to respond

Physiological response

– released saliva to neutralize acid that wasn’t there

We must take control of our Minds and our Imaginations!

2 Cor 10:5 “cast down imaginations.. take every thought captive”

You mind, thoughts & emotions affect your immune system

Prov 17:22

A merry heart does good, like medicine,

But a broken spirit dries the bones.

Lev 17:11

Life is in the blood

Bones are our support system

Major function is production of blood cells in marrow

Red Blood Cells carry oxygen throughout the body

White Blood Cells fight infection, disease & invaders

When we learn to take control of our thoughts

Ps 112:7-8

He is not afraid of bad news.

His heart remains secure, full of confidence in the Lord.

8 His heart is steady, and he is not afraid.

How do we have secure, confident, steadfast hearts

and not be anxious or afraid?

Make Sacrifices

Heb 13:15-16

Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God,

that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.

16 Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have,

for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
