When Prince George, Son of Prince William and Kate was born, he didn’t know who he was or what he was born into

·       Didn’t cry any less

·       Didn’t wet his diaper any less

He hasn’t done anything yet – fourth in line for the British Crown

He is who he is by birth

                    But he has to be taught

We don’t know who we are when we’re born again – We have to be taught

Jacob: identified as a trickster – thought he had to work for everything

Wrestled with God for a Blessing

The blessing of God was not ‘things’

          His blessing was learning His God-design – Israel: Prince

God is who He says He is
And He will do what He said He would do
Therefore, I am who God says I am
And can do what God says I can do

The temptations of the enemy to the born-again believer always center on Identity

·       Serpent to Eve:  “you will be like God”

·       Satan to Jesus:  “if you are the Son of God”

·       Doubters to Jesus:  “if your God is God”

How was Jesus victorious?  With the Word

          Memory Verse

In the Word, we must first focus on WHO WE ARE – Self-Identity

Our focus has been backwards – we’ve focused WHAT TO DO – laws & rules

Dan 11:32. The people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

My “Doing” must come out of my “Being”

Our “doing” has been for the wrong reason – we do to earn

          Our “doing” should be just because of “who I am”

                    …rooted in what and Who I “know”

2 Peter 1:3-4

By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life.

We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence. 4 And because of His glory and excellence, He has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share His divine nature.

Our Identity is not just about a God-design, but a God-nature

Creative

Have power within

The Enemy works to keep me from recognizing my God-nature

How do we get to this place?

Rom 12:2. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Renewed in your mind so you can

·       Be transformed into your pre-determined God-design

·       Think from your God-design

·       Function from your God-design

·       “Prove the good and acceptable and perfect will of God”

When you are not renewed in your mind, you will live in weakness & lack

·       low self-esteem

·       acceptance issues

·       struggle with feelings of inadequacy

·       are overly sensitive

·       the enemy can win simply by taunting

·       I won’t do “exploits”

When I know who I am, I can do what I’m purposed to do

When Simon got the revelation of who Jesus was, then he was given keys

“What you bind, I will bind.  What you loose, I will loose.”

You must determine to embrace & live by how the Word defines you

I am a Masterpiece

I am Awesome

I am Distinctly Different

I am Extraordinary

I am Marvelous

I am Valuable – a Unique Treasure

I am Pleasing to Him
